William H. McKenzie, IV
Attorney
William is a nationally sought-after trial attorney and an industry thought leader for results-based communication. William runs a cutting-edge national practice out of his footprint offices in Alabama and Mississippi. He has litigated matters in 29 different states (over 50 cases in Federal Court alone), 100’s of cases in state courts, multiple arbitrations, and recently won a trial in the U.S. Southern District of New York.

William was recently nationally published in DRI’s For the Defense Magazine after being asked to share his proven trial tactics with the National Defense Bar. William serves as a national keynote speaker on a variety of emerging litigation topics, communication tactics, and trial strategy before several industry groups including DRI, RIMS, TIDA, ATA, PLRB, Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys, Atlantic Claims Executive Association, and the Harmonie Group.
Most importantly: William is happily married, a proud father of three children, and loves serving with his church. William coaches his kids’ sports teams and is an avid hunter and fly fisherman. He lives every day with great joy!

Jacob Ray
Attorney
Jacob Ray is a highly experienced courtroom litigator with over two decades of practice. He began his career at the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, where he held multiple roles, including Litigator, Communications Director, Legislative Liaison, and Federal Government Interface. His deep understanding of governmental operations, paired with his extensive political connections, enables him to provide clients with forward-thinking advice on policy issues and emerging industry trends.
Before joining McKenzie PLLC, Jacob was a partner at a prominent law firm, where he established a reputation for shaping significant case law in complex civil litigation, including high-profile antitrust matters. Jacob has a unique passion for defending the trucking industry. Ten years ago, he obtained his CDL license and attended truck driving school, giving him firsthand insight into the challenges faced by drivers and companies alike. This practical experience informs his strategic defense of clients, allowing him to deliver exceptional representation rooted in real-world understanding.

Hannah C. Thompson
Attorney
Hannah C. Thompson brings over 12 years of legal experience and a proven record of success in civil defense litigation, with a particular focus on defending corporate clients. Her Bachelor of Science in Accounting (from the University of Alabama) arms Hannah with a dual expertise in law and accounting which provides a strategic advantage when navigating complex legal disputes.
Prior to joining McKenzie PLLC, Hannah was the founding partner of another litigation firm, where she led high-stakes litigation involving transportation, commercial liability, and regulatory compliance. She has successfully represented clients in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
Hannah’s background also includes serving as an arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where her keen insight into regulatory frameworks and financial complexities helped resolve disputes efficiently. Her ability to blend strong litigation skills with an understanding of the operational challenges faced by companies makes her an invaluable advocate for her clients.

David Horsley
Attorney
David Horsley brings over 15 years of seasoned trial experience to McKenzie PLLC, with a proven track record of success in high-stakes litigation. He has been involved in more than 30 jury trials and 40 arbitrations, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex legal disputes with confidence and precision.
David’s practice spans a broad range of litigation, including personal injury defense—particularly heavy vehicle and boating accidents—brain injury cases, and insurance litigation. He is also a recognized as a leader in construction litigation, leveraging his accounting background to analyze and defend claims related to both property and personal injury disputes. His strategic approach and deep understanding of financial implications set him apart in the field.
David earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2006 before obtaining his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
Beyond the courtroom, David is deeply committed to animal welfare. He was the founding chair of the Young Professional Board for the Greater Birmingham Humane Society (GBHS) and now how the pleasure of serving on the Board of Directors for GBHS, actively supporting the organization’s mission in his community.
David’s dedication to his clients, strategic litigation skills, and commitment to justice make him a formidable advocate both in and out of the courtroom.

Enrica Peters
Enrica Peters brings over 30 years of experience in civil litigation to McKenzie PLLC. A Mississippi native, she has worked with prominent law firms in New York City, bringing big-firm expertise to her work. Enrica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies with a minor in English and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology. In addition to her extensive paralegal career, she served for several years as a deputy clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, gaining valuable insight into federal court procedures. Her diverse background equips her to handle complex litigation with precision and professionalism.
